Fashion Finds for the Month (June 2013)

I never planned to go clothes shopping this month but I was waiting for Sting to get off from work and as you may know he works as an Engineer in one of the big malls in our city so whilst waiting for him I  decided to look around and I came out with these items.
Blanc Noir Dress from SM
Body hugging printed dress that fits like a glove. I like it because it has sleeves and the length of the dress is not so short that you can see my bum when I bend over.he he I saw this on a mannequin and I just said to my self I need that dress of that mannequin right now.haha Don't mind my legs since the bruises from my allergy has not yet fully disappeared. I'll have to wait until my bruises are gone to wear this dress or any dress for that matter.
Eye Channel Sunnies
Finally found an aviator type sunnies that fits my face.
Sting trying out sunnies for fun.he he
Black Jacket from Folded and Hung
Petplum top from Folded and Hung
Folded and Hung at SM were having a massive clearance sale because they are closing down so everything was 50%. Most of the items were selling like pancakes but I managed to get one reversible jacket for my brother, blue shorts for Sting, and these two items for myself.

My June 2013 in Pictures

Most part of my month was spent at home resting due to some allergic reaction that we have yet determined. So besides from doctors appointment, check-ups and laboratory test here are the things that I had done over the past month.
LG-05 Lip gloss from Pinkies Collection
 Mid-day selfie
Checking emails over a glass of "halo-halo"
Decided to get physical and enrolled myself in a gym.
Favorite White hat order, frozen yogurt with bananas and brownies
Forced to follow this diet for a while because I had some rashes and bruises on my legs that were diagnosed to be an allergic reaction to something. So stayed on this diet until the doctor could determine what food and meds I am allergic to.
Get to play dress-up in our national costume for our Independence day celebration. Can you guess what country? I don't even know.haha
Just kidding the hat wasn't mine. This is what I wore, its a modern take on our national clothes and this type of barong are usually worn by men. But hey, what works for the men surely can work for us women.
Passion Red from Maybelline Color sensational
Play after work? Just let me remove my barong and I'm ready!
Sting and I were Baby sitters for a day and we let Reren run wild in David's Playhouse.
Reren was so hungry after that Sting had no trouble feeding him. Look at my boys bonding over a Jollibee meal.
Sting  got the eyes down.he he So cute!
 Typical weekday work desktop
Where's the sun? It was super sunny in morning then pouring rain in the afternoon.
Road trip to our very own LAX. Don't really know why its called that but it stand for Laguindingan Airport. It is about 30 mins to an hour drive away from the city depending on the traffic.
At least the new airport is bigger than the old one.

Singing our hearts out with my girls
Ending the day with a scrumptious eat-all-you-can Korean meal. Using chopsticks is a challenge that I can't surpass so I'll stick to using my fork, thank you very much!he he

So what have you been up to the past month?

Skincare: My Day and Night Moisturizers

Here are the face moisturizers that I currently love.

Oil of Olay have been around for ages and ages and I know that everybody and their mum uses and trust this product . I've seen my mum use this before so I decided to give it a try and I love it. I have allergy prone, oily, and problematic skin so finding products that will work on me is difficult. I love the Olay line especially for sensitive skin because it does not break me out, it does not give me bumps under the eye, because I also use Olay eye cream, and best of all it doesn't have a scent. The Olay normal range have a slight scent but it does not also irritate my skin.

I use the Olay complete all day moisture cream (normal) and Olay complete all day UV moisturizer (sensitive) in the morning right after cleansing and toning my skin. I apply the cream all over my face and the UV moisturizer all over my neck and decolletage area. I usually let the moisturizers soak in for about 3 to 5 mins before I apply my makeup on. I find that my makeup applies more smoothly on my skin and it last a long time too. The moisturizers keep my skin hydrated so my face does not need to produce oil thus preventing my face to look shiny or greasy.

For my night moisturizer, I use the Clinique dramatically different moisturizing lotion. I was suppose to get the moisturizing gel since that was for oily skin but I bought lotion by mistake. I still use it and the lotion works fine for me so all is good. This product really feels good on skin when you apply it. It goes on kinda wet and watery but the skin slowly absorbs it and the skin feels soft and plump afterwards. I don't know how to explain it but I love this product and I use it religiously at night. This has a unique scent to it but it goes away really fast and this does not also irritate my skin. I have been using my moisturizer for about 7 to 8 months now and I still haven't finish the bottle, this product could well probably last a year so it is a good value for money.

I've noticed that since I was using moisturizers my skin texture have greatly improved. If there is only one thing that I could do everyday to my skin besides cleansing , it would definitely be to moisturize because I've seen the results, it improved my skin texture, it helps control my oil, it keeps my face soft and it keeps the wrinkles at bay. So don't miss out on moisturizing everyday because the result is definitely worth it.

Review: Etude Drawing Show Creamy Liner

Drawing Show Creamy Liner
I may have finally found the perfect eyeliner for me. I was on a hunt for a smudge free gel liner and I happen to pass by the adorable display at etude so I took a look around and came out with this gel liner. I have been using this product for about 3 to 4 months now and so far I'm loving it.

Packaging
The packaging is super cute. It comes in a pink box and the liner itself is housed in a small plastic container with portable eyeliner brush.

Product
The eyeliner itself is very creamy, very pigmented and it glides on smoothly upon application. It stays on for a long time, it does not smudge. I usually were mine all day at work and straight to the gym after and when I get home my eyeliner is still on. Once the product sets, it is really on until you remove it with a makeup remover. The brush that comes with the eyeliner is a decent brush but prefer using an angled eyeliner brush.

I've been using my eyeliner everyday for about 4 months now and I still have not use half of it. The eyeliner has also not dried up, it is still as creamy as the first time I opened it. This eyeliner is also reasonably priced, it is a bit expensive compared to drugstore eyeliners but for the quality, it is worth it.

My Verdict
Packaging 5/5
Product 5/5
Value for Money 4/5

So far this is the best eye liner that I've tried and I will continue to use and I will definitely repurchase it.

Fragrance Collection

I was organizing my vanity last week and I've noticed that I had accumulated quite a number of perfumes and body sprays. These are fragrances that I currently have and I promise I use all of them.

Most used fragrance
Burberry The Beat
This has notes of tea from Ceylon, iris, bluebell, bergamot, cardamom, pink pepper, mandarin, light musk, vetiver and cedar. All in all the scent is clean and fresh. It comes across as floral with a hint of musk which is perfect for everyday wear and night fragrance. I've totally used up a whole 2.5 FL OZ of this and I'm using those sample bottles for night outs.

Work appropriate Fragrance
Mark and Spencer "Inspire" * Bench Celebrity Fragrance "Sweetheart"
"Inspire" perfume has the combined top notes of pepper and purple freesia. Middle notes of white helitrope, hibiscus blossom and rose. Base notes or cedar wood and sandalwood. Sting bought this perfume for my birthday and I loved it. The scent is clean and feminine, it has a floral scent but not to sweet and girly.

"Sweetheart" is a fruity combination of Grapefruit, Jasmine, Iris, White Musk and Cedar wood.  Its overall scent is that of fresh sweet day, not to strong but its noticeable.

These fragrances are perfect for teens and young adults. I find that they are not offensive and most of my guy friends and my boyfriend likes this scent.

Mature Selection
Jennifer Lopez "Deseo Forever" * Jessica Simpson "Fancy"
"Deseo Forever" has notes of Amber, Musk, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Orange blossom and Pink geranium.

"Fancy" has notes of pear, apricot and red berries; middle notes of gardenia, jasmine, almond and caramel; base notes of sandalwood, vanilla and amber.

These fragrances are musky and has a grown up or mature scent than those mentioned before. I like to use the "Deseo Forever" during the day and "Fancy" for night outs.

Casual Day Scents
Escada "Taj Sunset and Marine Groove"
Taj Sunset has notes of Alphonso mango, nectarine and blood orange. It has has features of aquatic flowers with raspberry and pamorosa or Malay apples. The base notes consists of coconut, sandalwood and musk.

The Marine Groove has notes of passion fruit, peony, jasmine and must.

Basically, these two escada scents have a floral fruity character which reminds me of a tropical vacation. These scents are perfect for summer because its fresh, light and a bit fruity.
Live Pink and Japanese Cherry Blossom
These body sprays are my go to scents when I'm just running errands or going to the gym. If I don't have anywhere particular to go, I almost always wear these body sprays. The Live Pink has a warm floral scent and the Japanese Cherry Blossom has a slightly musky floral scent.

Now that I have listed the notes of my perfumes I found out that I'm quite a floral girl. It may because fruity scents makes me hungry.

Collective Beauty Haul

It has been quite a while since I went out and did some retail therapy, but over the month of May and early June I may have snuck out and bought some beauty stuff. Some of this items are repurchases and some are new items that I want to try out.
Epilin Hair Remover, Mane 'n Tail Shampoo and Conditioner and Elf eye primer and Liner Sealer
I ran out of my favorite hot wax and eye primer so I repurchased them again. Although I usually get the Elf mineral primer in the tube form they only had it on a stick this time. I got to say I really prefer the one in tube because it does not pull on the eyelids one you apply it, but the stick form does the same job but is a little bit rougher.  I also bought the Mane 'n Tale shampoo and conditioner because I heard and read good reviews about it that it helps makes your hair grows faster. I'm trying to grow out my hair so I'm really exited in using them.
Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner Toner
I picked up this new toner from Etude House because I was running low on my Etude House fresh malgem toner and I saw this huge ass of a toner and I said to myself "this toner would go a long way".he he It also claims to have 7 skin benefits. I'm excited and I'll let you know if it does what it claims.
Pinkies Collection Lip Glosses (They don't have names and the codes fell from the packaging)
Just before we went on our Palawan holiday, Sting and I were out shopping for his summer clothes and he was kind enough to get me these lip glosses from Pinkies Collection. They are so pigmented and those swatches were just one swipe and they leave a stain on your lips after some time. Those were the only lip products I bought with me to Palawan and I got to say, I'm in love with them.
Bifesta water cleansing lotion (Bright Up)
I spotted this when I was browsing in Watson's and it caught my eye. I have been seeing a lot of water cleansers being raved about on YouTube like Bioderma but those are hard to get here in the Philippines so I was curious to try this one. At first I was, how the heck am I gonna read this it's in Japanese. Thankfully the instructions and ingredients were translated in English at the back. I'm really excited to try the Asian version of those cleansing water and I just hope that it won't break me out. Wish me luck!
Etude house collagen moistfull firming eye cream, Celeteque spot corrector, Revlon Colorstay face powder, Elf Mineral Eyelid Primer
I just ran out of my Olay eye cream and I saw the moistfull one at Etude house and decided to give it a try. The Celeteque and Elf primer are repurchases and you can view my review on the Celeteque spot corrector here. I got the Revlon face powder since I don't own any pressed powder for touch-ups during the day and I trust Revlon's face products because I've been using their liquid foundation for years now and they don't break me out.
Yoko Knee and Elbow Whitening Cream, Yoko Underarm Whitening Cream, Herbal Formulas Anti-Scar Gel
This lot was a random buy, I was just bored one day and browsing down the isle of our local department store and spotted these items. I'll try them out and see how they work.
Locido L Heat Protection (Curling Milk)
I don't really curl my hair that much, but I saw that it has a heat protectant property so I bought it. I haven't seen any heat protectant products sold around our local stores and this one is the first.
Watson's Cosmetic Sponges
I'm planning to use these sponges in applying my liquid foundation. I always use my brush and I saw missglamorazzi from YouTube use sponge to apply her Revlon ColorStay foundation and it looked nice so I decided to try it for myself.
Baby Wipes
I'm not really picky with the brand of baby wipes I use, I just make sure that it is unscented. I bought these wipes on different trips to the mall but when I saw that they were on offer, I just could not refuse. I go through these wipes like crazy, I use them everyday to remove my makeup and clean my brushes so whenever they are on sale I usually pick them up.
Watson's mini hankies, Watson's Breath Strips, Mini Giggles wet wipes, Bonus Cebo de Macho
These are my handbag essentials. I decided to restock them and I use the Cebo de Macho for moisturizing any dry area on my body and to lessen or lighten those scars that I have from my boboos.he he

Puerto Princessa Palawan Day 4: City Tour (Last Day)

Well, it was our last day in Palawan and we had half a day before we fly back to Cebu City. The agenda for the day is to tour the city.
 The Puerto Princessa Boulevard
It was too hot to go for a walk so we just drove by it. Neil (our tour guide) says this place is really beautiful at night with the lights on and there are also a lot of food stalls that sells diffirent kinds of street food.
 Plaza Cuartel
This is where the prisoners of war were brought from the World War 2 by the Japanese. The prisoners were used as laborers without pay and later on were killed by burning alive inside a tunnel just behind that left column there. Most of the prisoners were Americans, during WW 2 the Americans and Japanese were battling and Palawan just happens to be right smack in the middle of the war zone.
Puerto Princessa Cathedral (just across the Plaza Cuartel)
 Palawan's beauty queen? lol
I was having a look see at the souvenir shops and I found this bejeweled crown and I just had to take a picture. What can I say, it just had to be done.
Went to the highest point in Palawan were you will find this ranch.
Just look at the view behind us!
Took a little snack break at Baker's Hill, it is one of the most beautiful garden/park I've seen. People can have picnics here for free. It started as a hobby of the owner and later they developed it into a small park and opened it to the public. Oh! they do sell delicious sweets and hopia perfect for souvenirs or "pasalubong".
Wishing that we could have a house like this!
 We heart you!
Sting summoning his frog friends, Naruto style!hehe
I'm getting hungry looking at those delicious mini cakes
You might ask, whats wrong with this guy? Well baker's hill also sells Tamilok which are wood worms from mangrove trees. (For video on the Tamilok experience click here)It is one of the local delicacies of Palawan and the guys really wanted to try it. Turns out among the guys, only Sting likes it, the other guys almost threw up.haha I'm so lucky to have such a manly boyfriend (swoon).haha I bet he was just putting a brave face for me, but I did commend him for swallowing three of those eeky worms. Eeeeek >_<
Last stop, Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center or most popularly called the Crocodile farm.
This is the skeleton of the largest salt water crocodile rescued in the Philippines before "Lolong" was discovered.  Trivia for you, only baby crocodile (age 1 to 3) skins are used to make leather accessories because their skin are still soft and easier to mold compared to the adult crocodiles.
During the tour, I was wondering what would happen if all those crocodiles were loose in the wild. I better not think about it...  (shudders)
Sting with his new pet! Since it was scary to take a pictures with the crocs we just went for this cute furry friend. Don't be fooled he was quite heavy!
We were finally able to sample the famous Chaolong from Rene's Saigon. I concur with everybody that says this place serves the best Chaolong in Puerto Princessa so if you can, you should definitely go here.

I took a lot of video footage during our trip but I find that at the moment I have no time to really sit down and edit them. But, I promise once I catch a break from work and my hectic life right now I'll definitely post it here. Watch our for it. Until next time, bye!
